Okay, so i think Tyson and I got it set up so only the fam (we will all just use the same address and password) can access the blog page so we don't get any crazy people that find it through a search. We can also go in and add specific people that can look and comment. It looks pretty simple. Everyone can comment on each posting or add a new one.

You can add pictures to the posting (like this premium pic of good ol' willie) which would be fun for all of us to see!

Are we on? I have never "blogged" in my life. It was fun to see you all over Thanksgiving we had a blast. After we landed in Vegas Jodie started carrying on and on about the trip. Every little girl we saw at the airport she said: "Abby?" , and she asked several times Abby go? She also explained with her pointer finger extended while shaking her arm in a scolding fashion( I think she picked this up from Jake on Saturday) "pup!! no, no, no!!! This of course was in her football voice: kind of a growl/yell. Love you all! I am now an official blogger

This is a test. It is only a test. Because me & mom are on for the thought for the week, I thought I better see if this works from the rural country. Our thought will be coming.
Love you all,
Dad

How's everyone doing? We got our tree up & its a dandy. (maybe the best we've ever had). Its not decorated yet, maybe tonight.
We thought we would like to relay a couple of Chrismas stories for our thought this week. I'm sure you've all heard these and I probably told them last year at Christmas. But thats the good thing about Christmas, you can hear the same stories, or the same music over & over and it still touches you & you feel the spirit. If I make some mistakes, it won't be the first time.

Paul received an automaobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it.

"Is this your car Mister?" he asked?

Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you nothing? Boy, I wish...". He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.

"I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that."

Paul looked at the bou in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?"

"Oh yes, I'd love that."

After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?" Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again.

"Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carring his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she, is Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn't cost him a cent. And some day I'm gonna give you one just like it...then you can see for youself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I've been trying to tell you about."

Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and three of them began a memorable holiday ride.

That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jese meant when he had said: "It is more blessed to give..."

I like that story. I think all of you are very good brothers and sisters and would look after each other if need be. I hope we all can feel the Christmas spirit this season in looking to do good for others not as fortunate as we are.

Last Sunday, Brad Allen bore his testimony. It was the first time since Blaine had died. It was so good. The main thought throughout the testimony was that he felt he had spent a lot of his time & life worrying about things that really are't that important. Worrying about himself and personal things. He said he has shed alot of tears since his dad passed thinking of what is important. Things he wished he would have done. I felt it tied into our little talk at Thanksgiving. That the really important things in our lives are our faimilies. Thats what really counts in life and the eternities to come.

We sure do love all of you, including those on the way. We wish you all a very merry Christmas.

Love,

Dad & Mom
